What does the background check look at?

For the safety of our users, every provider is screened for criminal offenses. Takl’s criminal background check is provided by a third party and includes national and county-level databases, and when necessary, local courthouse record checks stretching back a minimum of 7 years. Determinations on whether an individual is eligible to become a provider on the Takl platform are made on a case by case basis.  You may be ineligible to accept job requests on the Takl platform if, among other things or as required by applicable law, your background check results reveal any of the following:

- a felony
- a sexual offense
- a violent crime
- certain drug-related offenses
- certain theft
- certain property damage offenses
Takl reserves the right to disqualify a provider at any time should their background check reveal any of the above items, or for any other safety-related reason at Takl's sole discretion.
If you do not pass your background check, you'll receive a copy via email and instructions for how to contest the results.
